No body will pay $15 for a McDOnald's hamburger - that's why they can't pay a living wage. Also, McDonald's was meant to be a leaning experience to teach teenagers what a job skill was, such as waiting on customers, counting back change and producing product, that way they saw the importance of education to get a better job. It was never designed to be a permanent employment opportunity.
Wal-Mart employs part time workers to get out of paying benefits, and then takes out life insurance policies on most of their employees so that if and when they die, Wal-Mart gets their salaries back.
